Can kids call anyone?+
Kids can call contacts approved by their parent. Incoming calls from unknown numbers are screened before a parent decides whether to add the caller. A caller’s displayed number can be spoofed, so approval is not proof of identity.
Can I set this up for more than one child?+
Yes. Add a number for each child, with $5 setup and a $10 monthly subscription for each number. Each child has their own favorites, even with a shared address book.
What does a new caller hear?+
An automated assistant explains that the number accepts approved callers and asks for their name and reason for calling. The parent receives that information and can approve or decline. The caller never reaches the child during screening.
Do the kids need a mobile phone?+
No. The web phone runs in a supported browser with a microphone. Desktop apps use the same parent SMS setup and number assignment. Keep the app open and the computer awake to receive calls.
Can my kids text their friends?+
Texting is built to use the same parent-approved contacts. It will be enabled after the messaging provider approves the service’s registration or P2P exemption. Voice calls are available first; messaging is coming soon.
Can this phone call 911?+
No. Holler’d is not an emergency calling service or a replacement for a regular telephone. Keep a separate phone available for emergencies.
